DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND JUSTICE ADVISORY BOARD

To be an anti-racist church by opposing racism and promoting racial justice. The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Board is committed to helping our church interrupt and eliminate racism within and beyond our walls.

What is the DEIJ Board Doing?

Establish internal strategies to move Life Journey Church toward becoming an anti-racist church.

• Name and define the problem of racism and acknowledge it exists.
• Identify and address the sin of racism in our church.
• Recognize that it is everyone’s problem, and we all have a role in eliminating racism and inequity.
• Educate on the history of racism and methods to eliminate it going forward.
• Respectfully challenge each other when racist behavior or comments occur.
• Remain actively conscious and diligent as we work to eliminate racism in our church.

Incorporate more voices of marginalized people as we strive to educate and enlightenour congregation.

Establish and support affinity groups to focus on acceptance, inclusion, equity and belonging so that everyone feels welcomed, comfortable and accepted at Life Journey Church:

• Others as need is expressed
